There are many reasons why it is worth getting to know the Municipality of Kórnik. First of all, Kórnik is one of the most attractive places in the Region of Wielkopolska, which features exciting history and beautiful recreation areas. Secondly, the Municipality of Kórnik is one of the most dynamically developing in the Province. This is encouraged by its favorable location in the neighborhood of the Poznań greater area and the proximity of important transportation routes, including the A2 motorway.
Due to its numerous historical buildings, Kórnik is one of the most exquisite and most frequently visited towns in Poland. The Kórnik Castle is the edifice, which has become the symbol of the town and its greatest tourist attraction. Kórnik is also the only town in Poland that has two market squares and two city halls.

What is more, it attracts tourists with fantastic recreation areas situated along the lakes of the Kórnicko-Zaniemyska Tunnel Valley and the River Warta floodplains where fans of active recreation can cycle and hike in the marvelous forests and along Ścieżka Zdrowia (Fitness Trail) in the so-called ‘Zwierzyniec' (ZOO). And those who prefer driving will definitely enjoy Trasa Kórnicka (Kórnicka Trail), which is unique in being the first tourist route for motorcars in Poland with special road signs. It is worth spending a day driving following the hexagonal brown signs that guide the way to historic and cultural sites, as well as natural attractions of Wielkopolska.

It should be added that the drainage basin of Kórnik lakes has become a protected area due to its unique landscapes and recreational and ecological significance. The picturesque environs along the River Warta and many natural assets, such as the favorable weather conditions and the presence of lakes and forests, are conducive to the development of agritourism. And it is tourism that shows the greatest potential to further the whole municipality's growth. All the local government's current activities are aimed at improving and extending the tourist and service infrastructure and this includes cleaning the lakes, making the shore lines of Lake Kórnickie and Lake Bnińskie accessible to hikers and cyclists, constructing a sports and recreation center in Kórnik, as well as the reclamation of the downtown area and restoring the former magnificence of local historic buildings. The authorities intend to obtain non-budgetary means, including EU funds, for the latter of the two tasks. We hope that this external assistance will contribute to the fast completion of investments, which will not only enhance the image of the municipality, but also provide the inhabitants and tourists with a modern sports hall, an indoor swimming pool and a cultural center.
Apart from its wonderful historic, cultural and natural assets, Kórnik today is also an attractive site for new investments that improve the standard of living in the municipality and contribute to its dynamic growth. As previously mentioned, one of the factors responsible for the rapid development observed recently in the municipality has been its favorable location near the Poznań greater area and in the proximity of important transportation routes.
Taking this and all other assets into account, local authorities have been extremely active in using them to the advantage of investors and local residents. The municipal authorities are working on providing the best possible conditions and this involves enhancing the infrastructure and creating spatial development plans. The municipality offers a very good public transportation system that connects Kórnik with Poznań and all prospective investors can count on friendly attitude and assistance, as well as favorable tax and other exemptions. In particular, the northern part of the municipality, which is adjacent to Poznań, has become extremely attractive to investors and many new companies have been established there. Most of them belong to large multinational concerns operating in the warehousing, logistics and food processing sectors. Apart from these, Kórnik is also the location of various small and medium enterprises that have won numerous awards and certificates proving the high quality of their services and products.
