The largest tourist attraction of Chorzów is
the Silesian Central Park, a unique venture in
Europe, being a combination of a village green
and recreation facilities covering over 600hectares
and featuring an amusement park, zoological garden,
ethnographic park, planetarium, all-year sleigh
run, hotel and acomplex of open-air swimming pools.
It attracts to the city the region's inhabitants
and tourists coming from every corner of the country.
The Park also owes its huge popularity to the
largest sports stadium in Poland - the Silesian
Stadium situated there, which hosts national sports
events. It is there that the Polish national football
team has played numerous matches. The team's successes
have been embedded in the memory of millions of
football fans. The stadium facilities have been
modernized and the stands will soon be roofed
as part of preparations for EURO 2012 to accommodate
footballers and football fans from all over Europe.

Residents of Chorzów are also proud of their
presentable Wolności Street, the town's high street.
The modern pedestrian area starts with a 19th
century post office building with an illuminated
tower and a square with a fountain and ends with
a monumental church dedicated to Saint Hedwig
erected in 1874. Every year, the street plays
host to a colourful pageant of artists partaking
in the International Students' Folklore Festivals.
In the summertime, the pedestrians have an opportunity
to listen to brass bands ever so popular in the
Region of Silesia.
Chorzów is also famous for the splendid musicals
staged at the Entertainment Theatre. The local
Museum boasts a superb coin collection. The city's
oldest historic building is St. Lawrence's wooden
church dating back to late 16th century.
Chorzów is gaining in importance as an academic
centre with Campus of the Poznań School of Banking,
the Management School of the Silesian University,
the Upper Silesian School of Entrepreneurship
under the patronage of the University of Economics
in Katowice, the Upper Silesia Teacher Training
College, Non-Public IT University, as well as
the Radio and Television Department of the University
of Silesia seated there. Chorzów's system of education
features public and private primary and secondary
schools, as well as primary and secondary State
School of Music.
Recently, a top quality road network has been
built in Chorzów and the region: the Diagonal
Road and the A4 Motorway have triggered off the
city's economic growth. Investors have been looking
for locations situated along transportation routes,
attractive for trade and services facilities.
These include car showrooms and large chain markets.
The most spectacular investment is a logistic
centre constructed in 2006 by ProLogis company,
which is listed on the New York Stock Exchange.
Thanks to the European Union's financial support,
Chorzów has been engaged in two large-scale projects
in the realm of environmental protection, social
issues and the road network. Due to the high cost
involved, the projects would not have been implemented
so quickly.
Attractive recreation sites, open air and indoor
swimming pools, tennis courts and sports halls
contribute to the city's modern character. Chorzów
boasts professional sports facilities and numerous
horse-riding centres, gyms, fitness clubs and
bowling alleys.
Chorzów is also a business and foreign capital-friendly
city; investors settling in economic zones enjoy
tax relieves and exemptions.
You are welcome to spend some time in Chorzów,
a city encouraging business, relaxation and entertainment.
