Niepołomice
- a Town Obligated by History

|
The town of Niepołomice is situated
25km east of Krakow. Its history and traditions
obligate the local authorities to perceive it
in the categories of a broadly understood common
good. This is why Niepołomice takes care of everybody
and everything. The town's showcase is the renovated
Royal Castle which is home to the 19th-Century
Polish Art Gallery and a hotel with a modern conference
center.
Niepołomice is an excellent example of resourcefulness
and skillfulness in obtaining external funding,
a fact noted by Rzeczpospolita daily. In a ranking
made by the journalists of this paper, Niepołomice
came first as the municipality which has been
the most effective in securing financial support
for its projects.

The Municipality of Niepołomice has successfully
applied for money from the Cohesion Fund. This
has been used to finance projects that serve the
development of the public infrastructure. The
general aim of one the projects is to improve
the condition of natural environment and the quality
of drinking water for the residents, whereas in
the future a drinking water reservoir for Krakow
is to be established within the area of the municipality.
The Integrated Water Supply and Wastewater Disposal
System in the Town of Niepołomice and the Western
Part of the Municipality of Niepołomice Project
will provide a wastewater disposal system in part
of the town and four rural administration units.
This will include the building of an over 100
kilometer long wastewater system, 17 pumping stations,
40 kilometers of new road surfaces and 19 kilometers
of water mains as well as numerous new investments
that will enable effective water purification
and wastewater disposal in compliance with EU
requirements. The project will be completed within
two years and its value is 100 million zlotys,
17 percent of which will be covered using the
municipality's own resources. The effects of investments
as large as this one can already be observed.

The evident improvement of the infrastructure
in the municipality attracts both new residents
and investors who wish to locate their lives and
businesses in a place that is open to new projects
and challenges, and which offers development prospects
and security.
The companies that have established their operations
in the Municipality of Niepołomice to date include
the Coca-Cola Company who have been present there
since 1992 and are regularly extending their plant;
HMS, a platform gratings manufacturer; White Cap,
a manufacturer of twist-off closure solutions
and Juka, a manufacturer of cooling devices as
well as the largest window producers in Poland:
Dresdner Fensterbau and Oknoplast. MAN, the provider
of commercial vehicles has located one of its
plants in the Niepołomice Industrial Zone (NSP),
a part of which is a Special Economic Zone. The
NSP is also one of the locations of Polynt, a
producer of plasticizers. These companies will
soon be joined by the pet food manufacturer Royal
Canin and Meiller, a MAN supplier, who are currently
completing the construction of their plants. These
are only several from the 26 companies that have
invested in the NSP, an area of 400hectares that
has been developed especially for investors. The
NSP has been prepared to accommodate approximately
50 businesses which can offer employment to up
to 6,000 people.
