ABOUT
THE MUNICIPALITY
Duszniki is situated in a 27km distance from Szamotuły and only 32km to the west of Poznań, which is the economic hub of the Wielkopolska Region. The municipality covers an area of 15,628ha, incorporates 20 towns and villages (17 administrative units) and has a population of 8,000. The Duszniki region is situated in the catchment area of River Mogilnica, over a rolling plain, to which post-glacial hills add variety. Lake Wilczyńskie (8.5ha) and Niewierskie (3.5ha) are remnants of the glacier. In the past, the land was covered with woods and abundant with wild animals. At present, agriculture predominates there. Farmland covers almost 85% and forests only 6% of the municipal territory. More than 800 farms and three agricultural cooperatives operate locally. Due to local favorable conditions, such as class 3 and 4 land that covers 70% of the municipal area, local products are mainly pigs and cereals.

ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
The municipality boasts efficient water supply system featuring 3 sewage treatment plants. Sewerage system is operative in Duszniki, Ceradz Dolny, Nie-wierz, Podrzewie, Sarbia and Grzebienisko. Works have commenced on the construction of sewerage system in Sękowo.
The Duszniki Municipality cares about the cleanness of air, therefore its priorities include the expansion of gas network, which at present operates in Duszniki, Podrzewie, Sękowo, Wilczyna, Sędziny, Sędzinek, Ceradz Dolny and Grzebienisko.
Three water treatment plants operate in Duszniki, Sarbia and Kunów. All of them have been recently modernized and supply top quality water.
For the work on behalf of ecology, the municipality has received several awards, to mention the title of Polish Ecology Patron, the certificate of Environmentally Friendly Municipality and Top Quality in Environmental Protection.

EDUCATION
Two junior high and three primary schools operate in Duszniki. Education in the municipality is ranked among the best in the Region of Wielkopolska.

CULTURE
For many years, local community has been characterized by high cultural activity, the most prominent being the choir music. The Halka Choir operating at the Samopomoc Chłopska municipal cooperative was established in 1947. In 1980s, Folk Song Ensembles were founded and have been extremely successful ever since. They regularly partake in several competitions and festivals.

SPORTS
School sports are well developed In the municipality thanks to local football clubs and school sports clubs in Duszniki and Grzebienisko.
Local youth have earned the titles of Polish and Wielkopolska champions in athletics. Representatives of Poland: Jarosław Araszkiewicz (football), Adam Skórnicki (speedway racing) and Michał Bartoszak (racing at the Athens Olympics) have originated from the School Sports Club in Duszniki.

INVESTMENT AREAS
The Duszniki Municipality has prepared several investment sites for economic activity, including these situated along no. 92 domestic road. Attractive plots draw new residents to the municipality, thanks to which housing construction flourishes in the area. Local authorities pay attention that investors are provided with reliable information and assistance in placing investments in the municipality. The Polish Economic Chamber has appreciated the creation of favorable atmosphere for investors and in 2007 once again awarded Duszniki with the Fair Play Municipality title. The Municipal Office provides top quality services, which has been confirmed by several awards (to mention HIT Wielkopolski 2006) and the implementation of ISO 9001 quality assurance system.
