Traveling through Wielkopolska, it's impossible not to stop in the very heart of the region. At the confluence of the Warta and Prosna rivers, the
landscape of the town of Jarocin spreads out. It's an ideal place for escaping from the commotion of the city. Is Jarocin an interesting place for tourists? Jarocin is a friendly and industrious town that respects
tradition and history. We invite our guests to learn about the over 740-year history of Jarocin. A stroll around the town is not just a simple walk, but a real voyage into the past. The fact that we are one of the
oldest towns within the territory of the historical region of
Wielkopolska is not without significance. Those in doubt can be convinced of this by reading a document dating back to 1257. The city has a favorable location; it is
surrounded by vast forests, which ensures good climatic conditions. The town center also abounds in greenery. We have a wonderful park with hornbeam and oak alleys. One of the oldest monuments in
the Jarocin area, the Skarbczyk, is located in the park. With our residents in mind who prefer to spend their leisure time actively, we are planning to create bicycle paths. In the nearby village of Roszków on the
Lubieszka River there is a reservoir that is also intended to serve recreational purposes. Is it possible to swim in Roszków? Not yet, but next season there will be a beach there. The plan for managing the
Roszków reservoir is now in place. The size of the reservoir is suitable for water sports. The areas owned by the Municipality will be allocated for the construction of a beach, access roads,
parking lots and dining establishments. It is also possible to build a house near Roszków. Construction lots with the necessary utility hookups are located one kilometer from the reservoir. Those
interested in buying recreational plots of land should get in touch with the owners of private land. The municipality is supporting future investors by requalifying arable land. These changes have been
included in our «Study on the Conditions and Spatial Development of the Town of Jarocin». Are local authorities carrying out investments aimed at extending the tourist offer of the town and municipality?
Yes, we are. The indoor swimming pool is currently being overhauled. After terminating the work, the standard of the facility will approximate that of the larger, famous swimming pools in the country.
The overhaul of the swimming pool is the first phase of our modernization of the facilities that make up the City Sports and Recreation Center. Next, the outdoor swimming pools, tennis courts, and
stadium will undergo renovation. Work is also being carried out in the municipal park; the Skarbczyk is being renovated, trees are being tidied up and ponds are being cleaned An overhaul of the
open-air amphitheater is also planned. |

When is the best time to visit Jarocin? Guests can link their stay in our town with many cultural events, among which worth mentioning are The International Youth Song
Festival, called «Let»s Sing Together"'; the International Folk Festival; The «Rythm and Melody» International Children's Song Festival; the «Jarocin» National Display of Art by Disabled Children and Youth; and
Children's and Youths' Theatrical Presentations. One cannot forget that Jarocin became famous as the capital of Polish rock. In 2000, the Rock Music Festival returned to Jarocin under the name «Start Festival Jarocin
2000». This time it was a one-day event. The town authorities hope that the Start Festival will turn into a multi-day event and take place annually. Our town is open and friendly to all tourists who want to
spend a few days here and to people who want to settle down here for good, as wellThe fact that our municipality is modern and well developed economically is also important to our guests. A few thousand business
entities are registered here, and new investors and owners of developing companies can count on a tax relief and even complete exemption from payments to the municipality. There are also a number of banks and insurance
companies operating
in Jarocin. Therefore, one shouldn't be concerned about problems with handling financial or administrative matters. The investment and tourist assets of the
town encourage people to stop in Jarocin, however tell us how you like to relax? For years, I have been keen on kayaking and hiking. If time permits, I go for walks and ride my bicycle. I hope that soon I
will go by kayak on the reservoir in Roszków. Several other members of the local
authority and I have established a society whose task is to protect the basin and waters of the Warta River. Perhaps soon my friends and I will travel by kayak
along a familiar route down the Lutynia, Prosna and Warta rivers. Once again, we will be able to admire the Czeszewsko-Żerkowski Landscape Park and Wielkopolska National Park. |
