Relaxation in Włocławek |

"It was a long-established fashion to spend leisure time in the summer in the suburban gardens. These gardens, attracting visitors with swings and barrel organ
music, were situated in Glinki and Lisek". This is how a publication entitled "Życie Włocławka i okolicy" by Zdzisław Arentowcz from 1927 reads. Although in the past seventy years, Włocławek has greatly changed, its
residents still have numerous opportunities to relax and play sports. What is more, visitors to the town can choose from among numerous options. Those who prefer to breathe fresh air and walk among the green
areas can visit the Henryk Sienkiewicz City Park with the charming Zgłowiączka River, willow-tress and colorful flowerbeds. During the weekend, you can take an hour-walk to Lakes Czarne and Łuba. Their bathing beaches
are located in a beautiful natural environment where you can combine relaxation with active recreation, and where canoes, pedal boats, and bathing beaches are at the disposal of water sports amateurs.
Wieniec-Zdrój, a unique beauty spot, is located only 6-km. from Włocławek. The local climate has healing properties, as does its water and therapeutic mud. But what is most valued by patients is the peace and quiet.
Another major attraction is the sports and recreation center in Glinki that Z. Arentowicz described in his "Włocławek".
In addition, a sports and entertainment hall is being built in Włocławek. This modern investment will greatly contribute to the spatial layout of the southern part
of the town. The 9,000 sq. m. hall will include a 28m. x 52 m. sports field with 3,708 seats. The cubature of the hall will amount to 70,000 m3. It will be equipped with air-conditioning, professional
audio-system and state of the art lighted message board. At present, lines supporting an innovative roof construction are being mounted. The investment will include the modernization of the local
infrastructure, including access roads and other roads, such as the A-1 international route. |
