Szczecin, the capital of the West Pomeranian voivodship, is a
significant port, industrial, cultural, scientific, administrative
and tourist center of the region. The area of the city is 301 sq.
km inhabited by ca. 420 thousand people.
Szczecin has always been known as Paris of the North due to characteristic
layout of streets and squares. The beauty of the city is enriched
by greenery present in numerous parks and squares. With spring come
magnolias in full bloom, which for many residents are a symbol of
the city. There are few cities in Poland that can match such abundance
of greens, water areas and convenient climate conditions. There
are 16 parks, numerous lakes, canals and harbor basins.
The city has many attractions for all of its visitors. They can
view numerous monuments - relics of the citys past, museums, many
theatrical stages, galleries and antique shops. Among the most important
monuments, we recommend the Pomeranian Dukes Castle, gothic St
Jacobs Cathedral, baroque gates: the Port Gate and the Royal Gate.
It is not far from here to the popular seaside resorts such as Świnoujście
and Międzyzdroje.

Szczecin jako stolica województwa zachodniopomorskiego jest znaczącym

Zamek Książąt Pomorskich, gotycką katedrę św. Jakuba, barokowe bramy:
Bramę Portową i Bramę Królewską. Niedaleko stąd do lubianych nadmorskich
miejscowości wypoczynkowych, jak Świnoujście czy Międzyzdroje.
