Trzcianka lies by the international
cycling route Paris-Moscow, on the border of Pojezierze
Wałeckie and Pradolina Notecka. The beautiful
forests with monumental trees (a thousand years
old oak "Wojtek"), numerous lakes, hypothermal
water and fresh air are a strong temptation to
stop. But this place is attractive not only to
cycling fans. The municipality grows even more
welcoming with its comfortable railway connections
and well-developed road network. Another asset
is the short distance to such cities as: Poznań,
Bydgoszcz, Szczecin and Gdańsk.

"Far enough to rest. Close enough to make business"
- convinces the advertisement of the Trzcianka
Municipality. Beyond doubt, the charm of the place
will appeal both to tourists and organizers of
training seminars and conferences. In the Noteć
Forest, at the slope of the clear Straduń lake,
they will find one of the most beautiful hotels
in Wielkopolska - the Club and Conference Hotel
"Smolarnia". It is located in a building constructed
during the Thirties and recently modernized but
with due preservation of the various original
details and traditional elements of construction
used at the beginning of the last century. The
unique location, architecture and surroundings
were an inspiration to create the exceptional
form of the hotel, combining the club character
with a family atmosphere. Quiet, peaceful and
far from the everyday bustle, the place guarantees
relaxation and leisure. Especially that the hosts
of "Smolarnia" offer additionally a number of
attractions. They organize mushroom picking and
invite guests to pick the plentiful berries and
other forest fruit. You can take longer trips
using horse carts. During the trip, a storyteller,
who tells them the history of the place, accompanies
the guests. The carts take the guests to historical
Beeches and Oaks setting the boarder of the former
Warsaw Duchy, where they can taste the mead prepared
according to the old captain of horse recipe.
Lakes: Straduńskie (116 ha), Długie (60 ha), Sarcz
(54 ha) and Okunie (10 ha) nested in the lake
valley, stretching from Smolarnia to Trzcianka,
offer excellent conditions for windsurfing, sailing
and fishing. The abundant forests, with 90 percent
of pine, oak and beech trees, and often larch,
spruce or birch, provide perfect conditions for
hiking and hunting.
In order to keep this place unpolluted, the municipality
authorities are highly prudential in their policies.
In 1997, a new communal landfill was established
(143 thousand m3 capacity for 14.3 years), and
the old one was reclaimed. In the municipality,
there is also a sewage treatment plant of BIOBLOK
type with a 2,600 m3/24h capacity and a decantation
station for cesspool sewage from the town and
municipality. The construction of a gas system
has been completed in Trzcianka and technical
designs for sewage systems in the villages of
Straduń, Smolarnia and Biała have been drawn up.
The municipality made it a priority to care for
its tourist and leisure base (also as the health
resort function) and prosperity of ecological
agriculture and food processing.
The municipality still has available land, which
in the local land development plans are earmarked
for housing construction, service and trade, or
guest housing. For future investors, particularly
those in the tourist and food processing industries,
the authorities apply preferential terms and tax
rebates.
