Krynica Morska
- the Only Such Place
in the World
|
|
|
|
|
Krynica Morska is one of the
smallest towns in Poland in terms of the number
of residents. Situated in the north of Poland,
on a small patch of land - a spit of the Vistula,
surrounded by the Baltic Sea waters on the north
and by the Bay of the Vistula on the south, and
overgrown with the evergreen pine and beech forest,
it has been attracting thousands of tourist for
decades. What makes the tourists come here yearly?
It is definitely the climate, the clear air abounding
in iodine, long, sandy beaches full of soft sand
- so pleasant for the feet, the high, white dune
swells, the waters of the Vistula Bay, ideal for
yachting and rich in fish, and the beautiful,
thicket forests with a wide variety of plants
and animals.

Several thousand holiday makers, starving for
sun, bathing in the sea and other attractions,
visit Krynica Morska every year. The peculiarity
of Krynica is that every visitor can rest in his
favorite way, as we offer beaches with a full
tourist base, i.e. water equipment rental, slides,
changing rooms and beach bars, as well as wild
and desolated spots. The beach near Piaski is
enjoying growing popularity and is especially
fancied by advocates of sunbathing in the nude.
Everyone visiting Krynica Morska will find some
space to rest alone, to get lost in the crowd,
to have fun with a group of friends or to observe
the richness of nature. The highest dune, Camel's
Hump (48.5 m above sea level) is a view point
for, on one side, the Baltic Sea and on the other
side, the Vistula Bay, whose sea-line is closed
by the Elbląg Upland Hills, housing the Frombork
Cathedral. One can experience thrilling moments
among the 150-year-old trees in the Beech Reserve,
where you can meet deer, foxes, wild boars and
an uncountable number of birds.
You should also see the town's old building structure,
dating back to the beginning of the 20th c. and
constituting a group of monumental villas and
pensions, and the light house - one of few on
the coast available for sightseeing.
Staying in Krynica, one can take a boat cruise
to Frombork or Elbląg, a water-plane flight to
Kaliningrad, a trip to Gdańsk, Malbork or to the
Cormorant Reserve in Kąty Rybackie.
Krynica's pride are the life-guards from WOPR
in Elbląg, thanks to whom Krynica came second
in a contest for the safest sea-side resort in
northern Poland.
Krynica Morska is seeking to obtain health resort
status, thanks to the presence of various mineral
waters - chloride-sulphate-magnesium-soda, bromide,
iodine, boronic and hypothermal, ideal for treatment
and recreation.
Vistors to Krynica Morska may stay in hotels,
pensions, holiday centers and lodgings, as well
as on camping grounds.
Krynica Morska is situated in a very good communication
point: far away from the noise and yet accessible
for the tourists. One may get here by freeway
from Gdańsk 79 km, Elbląg 61 km and Warsaw 360
km and by waterway from Elbląg, Frombork and Kaliningrad.
