Chojnice Municipality offers
beautiful landscapes and abundant nature, as within
its territory the largest group of inland dunes,
rare species of plants and animals, clean air
and clear water in the Tucholskie Forest can be
found. In 1996, in order to protect its abundance,
in the largest forest complex in Poland, the "Bory
Tucholskie", a National Park has been established.
It constitutes the most precious part of the Zaborski
Landscape Park, the jewel of which is the Brda
River, also called the queen of lowland rivers,
and its tributary, the Zbrzyca River. The authorities
of the Landscape Park are responsible for the
Stone Circles (Kręgi Kamienne) archeological reserve
in Odry, and organize events promoting ecology
near the ancient Slavic bread-making stove in
Widno. If you want to experience an adventure,
you should follow the local tourist routes with
a guide from the Zaborski Landscape Park, who
will tell you the secrets of the forest's residents.

Chojnice has a lot to offer to fans of active
recreation, especially to sailors. The Chojnice
Sailors Club has a marina with a pier, hangars,
and boat building workshop. Established in 1922,
it is the oldest Sailors' Club in Poland. The
history of the Lake Charzykowski Blue Ribbon Regatta
dates back to the interwar period. Moreover, the
Otton Weiland's Memorial regatta, named after
the father of Polish sailing and the founder of
the club, has gained a wide recognition. Ten years
ago, the club was the organizer of the World Snow
and Ice Windsurfing Championships. Amateur enthusiasts
of water sports know well the attractions of the
Chojnice Water Park. Apart from the Olympic size
swimming pool, it has a three-spiral slide, Jacuzzi,
an artificial river and geysers.
Chojnice has lots to offer to history lovers,
as well. Major attractions include the remains
of medieval fortifications; the Church of the
Beheading of St. John the Baptist, built of red
bricks on the granite foundations in the Pomeranian
Gothic style, which in 1993 became a smaller basilica;
the late-Baroque Jesuit Church of the Annunciation
of Virgin Mary; a neogothic town hall; and the
interesting layout of the Old Town, which has
recently been modernized and adorned with a fountain
that includes a lighted stream with varying of
colors and types of light and water streams. Other
landmarks include an old riverside sawmill in
Chocimski Młyn, water mills in Czernica and Koszuba,
historic manor houses, and wayside shrines scattered
across the Chojnice Region.
Chojnice has a lot to offer to entrepreneurs.
To support their activities, local authorities
have developed a plan called "Preferences for
Industry, Trade and Services in Chojnice". That
the city promotes ambitious entrepreneurs is best
reflected by the fact that a fish processing plant
has moved from Gdynia harbor to Chojnice. The
state of the art fish processing plant is one
of the first facilities in Poland that meet all
EU directives. The Chojnice steel construction
plant, a manufacturer of machinery and equipment
for general and industrial construction also meets
European standards. The following enterprises
have promoted the city abroad: the Millennium
Bridge in London, facade of the VW Dresden Plant
and the Berlin Spandau railroad station.
As a result, it comes as no surprise that the
readers of Dziennik Bałtycki daily, selected the
Chojnice Municipality in a plebiscite for the
"Jewel of Pomerania". Last but not least, Chojnice
has a lot to offer to investors, such as Tomasz,
Grażyna and Rafał Winieccy, who have modernized
a devastated manor house in Krojanty and opened
an exclusive private rehabilitation clinic, where
diseases of the spine, head and aches in joints
are treated, as well as lovers of nature and travel,
and fans of International Folklore Festival and
Poets Night.
