The Nysa municipality is located
in the south-western part of the opolskie province,
in the picturesque region of the Sudety Mts. Foreland.
Nysa is known, among the tourists, as the "Silesian
Rome" and at the same time a mysterious town -
Fortress. The history of Nysa started already
during the reign of Boleslav Krzywousty. For a
short time it was owned by the Wrocław princes
and then for nearly 500 years it was the capital
the Nysa Duchy ruled by bishops.

Later Austrian rule and subsequent Prussian
reign made the Town a Fortress which was regarded
as one of the strongest in Europe. This opinion
is confirmed by the fact that in 1807, Napoleon's
army was besieging the town for as many as 114
days. Only the lack of relief made the Prussian
army capitulate. Up to now, ca. 60% of old fortification
has been preserved. Clean, ecological environment,
multitude of fish in the beautiful Nysa Lake and
the Nysa Kłodzka river, close vicinity of the
Czech Republic and the Opawa Mountains results
in the fact that the Nysa municipality is one
of the most liked and the best tourist attractions
in Poland.

The unusual relics of Nysa attract both the
fans of history and the enthusiasts of battle
and military accessories searching for adventure.
Everybody here, depending on the tastes, can also
spend time on sandy beaches, bathing in the lake
or in a more active way, on water sports as well
as walking and biking. In the opinion of many
visitors, Nysa is a tourist Eldora do to which
they willingly come back every year.
