Wągrowiec to Prepare Investments on European Scale

Authorities of Wągrowiec, the town that this year celebrates 625th anniversary of granting it a charter, have planned the construction of two large recreation complexes: Water Recreation Center on a 23ha area and Green Labyrinth Entertainment and Recreation Park extending over an area of 40ha. The former is to be a grand and unique undertaking on the national scale, which will serve as a major attraction not only for the residents of the town and municipality, but also for tourists from all over Poland and abroad. Its main strength is excellent location in the north of the Wielkopolska Region, close to Poland's western boundary and on the way to the sea.

Both complexes are to be built under private-public partnership (PPP) formula, which means that both the construction of the structures and their management will be conducted based on a strict cooperation agreement signed between town authorities and private partners who will decide to co-finance the undertakings.
The concept for the structures is not final, which means that future partners will have a say in their shape.

WATER RECREATION CENTER
The concept provides for the construction of sports and recreation structures on the eastern bank of Lake Durowskie, between the Pietrak hotel and a Sports and Recreation Center owned by the town. In the neighborhood, a secondary school (with 800 students) and a campus of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań (300 students) are situated. The area to be developed amounts to 23 ha. The plan provides for the construction of an aqua park comprising sports and recreation swimming pools, SPA center, saunas, fitness rooms, a hotel with approx. 300 beds, and a multi-purpose hall used for sports, culture and trade exhibitions.

Main Facilities
- Vital bar - a typical finger food bar (in the swimming-pool part) and Vital Coctail - bar at the health and fitness center
- Dream raft: fun spot for children
- Sports swimming pool and a pool for swimming learners
- Senior fit&fun - brine pool and infrared sauna, wellness zone- foot baths at Kneipp's pool, health zone - therapeutic and keep-fit baths
- Wellness and relax island - four types of saunas, Jacuzzi, Knaeipp's pool with changing water temperature for foot care, gymnastics and relaxation pool
- Health and fitness center - physiotherapy, baths. Massage and Beauty Zone - body peelings and compresses. Healthy Backbone School and Fit Body&Mind Program.
- Fitness and gym - multipurpose training rooms with a possibility for staging physical movement and music activities, corrective gymnastics. The gym is to be equipped with weight training equipment, bikes and steppers for cardio-training.

GREEN LABYRINTH ENTERTAINMENT AND RECREATION PARK
The complex is to be built in the western part of Wągrowiec, at the former premises of municipal landfield and neighboring meadows. At the first stage, a 4ha area is to be managed, next it will be expanded over 40ha. At the first stage, the landfield will be managed and service and catering facilities built. Each year, a new attraction is to be built, among them a funfair with a Roller Coaster.

Main Facilities:
- Birds' land with a bird fairy tale cottage and Big Bird is a part of labyrinth, where birds ‘tell' scary stories. The main attraction: thematic stations of the green labyrinth related with birds.
- Cistercian route: an attraction related with the history of the Cistercian Order.
- Green labyrinth: built of trees, underground and rock tunnels with a total length amounting to almost 7,000m.
- Attractions: 10-20 different stations, tunnels, pipes, slides, drawbridges, climbing walls.
- Catering facilities: a large hall or heated tents that can be linked and house up to 300 people, fast-food restaurant,
- Accompanying infrastructure: picnic areas, dog run, car park.
- Reception: customer service center.

As mentioned above, town authorities who intend to launch a PPP project have prepared the concept. All partners involved in the project will decide about the final shape the two undertakings take.
